QIECC

ANNUAL FORUM

To promote research into Indigenous education and training and it's use by practitioners, the QIECC hosts an Annual Forum, bringing together practitioners, researchers, government agencies, private industry and community members to promote the successful practices that are happening everyday in our cities, towns and communities across Queensland.

An advice statement is collated not only from the presentations, but also from the ideas and knowledge of all attendees.  This advice is provided to both State and Commonwealth Ministers for education and training, and thier relevant departments, to influence the policy and directions in Indigenous education and training.

To date the QIECC has hosted two Annual Forums:

2007 QIECC Inaugural Annual Forum - "Transitions"

2008 QIECC Annual Forum - "Closing the Gap: From National Address to Education Success"

The 2009 QIECC Annual Forum will be held in Rockhampton on 14 & 15 October 2009 at the Leichhardt Hotel.
